Partnership with the conducting class and the composition classes of the École Normale de Musique de Paris - Alfred Cortot since 2020.
Julien Masmondet now teaches at the École Normale de Musique - Alfred Cortot in Paris, where he trained under Dominique Rouits and where he perpetuates the French school of orchestral conducting inherited from Charles Munch, Jean Fournet and Pierre Dervaux.
The professional integration of young conductors is essential for the ensemble. It is with a desire for sharing and transmission that the educational partnership between Les Apaches and the conducting class of the École Normale de Musique de Paris - Alfred Cortot continues.
Young graduate conductors are regularly invited to work with the ensemble on certain productions, giving them the opportunity to perform in public. During the 2021-22 season, student Bianca Maretti was invited to conduct the performance "Je rêve de rêver" at the Théâtre de l'Athénée. In the 2022-23 season, student Gabriel Philippot conducted the participatory creation "Façades" on June 2, 2023, at the Théâtre de l'Athénée.
Furthermore, as part of Les Apaches' residency at Salle Cortot this season, we are organizing two chamber music programs with the ensemble's soloists in a new cycle entitled (IM)PULSE 2026. Each program includes a commission and a creation by a student from the composition classes.
