A multi-year residency

Les Apaches began a residency at the new conservatory in Le Kremlin-Bicêtre starting in the 2024-25 season. The project is being developed and built in close collaboration with Joachim Leroux, the conservatory's director, whose goal is to raise the profile of the residency and the ensemble across the region in partnership with other venues. The 2024-25 season made it possible to build a connection between the ensemble and the conservatory's students and members, and to hold initial encounters, culminating in a participatory showcase on June 7, opening the Rave-L Party performance staged as part of Nuit Blanche in Le Kremlin-Bicêtre. In 2025-26, Les Apaches will also get to know new partners in the area, with whom they hope to shape further initiatives in 2025-26-27.

The residency is built around:

• A Ravel theme for the first year, 2024-25, marking the composer's anniversary, which Les Apaches will celebrate through their two upcoming creations: Au Fou! and Rave-L Party. A Satie and Cage theme, tied to their creation De la fête au silence, in May 2026.

• A regular on-site presence, with the conservatory serving as one of our rehearsal venues. In spring 2026, Les Apaches will come to rehearse and possibly premiere their small-scale works, (IM)PULSE — a creative space given to the Apaches' soloists.

• Access for Les Apaches to the conservatory's technical studios for sound and image research for Rave-L Party and Satie-Cage.

• Informal or educational encounters with the Apaches' musicians and creators.

• Performances at the auditorium and at partner institutions of the conservatory across the department, still to be developed, notably with the Hôpital de Bicêtre and the Lavoir Numérique, with whom the conservatory has close ties.

• A participatory project involving the CRI's music and dance students, built around Ravel's Boléro, with a shared stage presentation with Les Apaches at the end of the year — on June 7, 2025, during Nuit Blanche, then again in 2026, date and format to be determined.

• A music-and-heritage program for targeted audiences in neighborhoods designated as "Priority Districts for Urban Policy" (QPV).

• One or more initiatives with middle schools, and possibly, in the first year, with students in the "Horaires facilités voix" track (a specialized schedule for young singers).
