This program, presented by Les Apaches! at the Collège de France at the close of their residency at the Singer-Polignac Foundation, highlights three creations by Fabien Touchard: Dystonia , concertino for piano and ensemble, Ce que nul n'entend for string quartet and electronics, as well as two unpublished scenes from the chamber opera in progress , Le joueur de flûte sur la rive .

Excerpts from Beethoven ( Hammerklavier ) and Schubert ( Impromptu , Op. 90), quoted in Dystonia , are presented as a prelude to evoke the memory-based material that permeates the work. Similarly, Beethoven's late quartets, juxtaposed with the work for quartet and electronics Ce que nul n'entend (What No One Hears ), illuminate a reflection on deafness and the transformation of listening, central to the themes explored in Le joueur de flûte sur la rive (The Flute Player on the Shore ), a new opera commissioned by Les Apaches!

This poetic and sensitive journey, at the crossroads of musical research and creation, brings into dialogue the music of Ludwig van Beethoven, at the dawn of the year 2027 which will mark the 200th anniversary of his death, with the works of Fabien Touchard created by Les Apaches! It also juxtaposes the words of Beethoven, taken from his Conversation Notebooks and the Heiligenstadt Testament , with the verses of Jean-Pierre Siméon from the poetic sketches and the original libretto of The Pied Piper on the Shore .

Through these musical and literary connections, the concert explores a path of resilience where fragility becomes a compositional strength and is part of a quest for light in the heart of darkness.
