INDEFINITO

Of flesh and marble

Indefinito offers a multifaceted vision of desire through the eyes of unparalleled masters of musical, poetic, and sculptural art. Led by the magnetic voice of soprano Marie-Laure Garnier, Les Apaches reveal a beauty that is both unsettling and captivating, echoing the Michelangelo & Rodin exhibition – two artistic geniuses who made the human body their boundless territory.

The works of Wagner, Monteverdi, Debussy, and Leleu meet the words of Baudelaire, Sappho, and Plotinus… so many voices that answer and brush against one another, united by a common quest: to sublimate desire, sensuality, and ecstasy. Indefinito plays with the blurring of boundaries, between flesh and marble, finished forms and fragments in the making, Baroque music and contemporary compositions orchestrated by Fabien Touchard, between acoustic and electronic elements.

A heartfelt performance, co-produced by the Louvre Museum.

“Indefinito is typical of the identity of the ensemble Les Apaches: it touches on everything, combines what seems contradictory or heterogeneous, and disregards the boundaries between eras and disciplines. It frees itself from everything except the essential: to evoke a moving emotion.” – Jean-Christophe Le Toquin (Res Musica)
