(IM)PULSE
A laboratory of live music
Scheduled at: Salle Cortot, Paris-Saclay Research Stage
(IM)PULSE is a creative space conceived by the soloists of Les Apaches, who have chosen to extend their exploration of new forms, collaborations, languages, and gestures. Here, we design, we assemble, we play, we perform. We put physicality back at the heart of our craft: to play is also to carry, to move, to decide.
To give impetus to create differently: minimalist scenography, transportable forms, and a deliberate economy of means. The desire to evolve music from its traditional venues by confronting it differently with spaces, creating new narratives in search of new imaginaries.
Each piece is conceived as a unique stage object, simultaneously musical, performative, and visual. The artists take hold of all the elements: artwork, light, movement, matter.
(IM)PULSE 2026 brings together two creations:
(DE)PHASE which explores musical trance, between sonic minimalism and body in tension.
RELOAD MEMORIES is a poetic evocation of memory, guided by the dancer's gesture and the resonances of the violin and cello.
Arthur Escriva, Lauriane Maudry, Eva Zavaro - June 2025
(DE)PHASE
Experience of musical, physical and collective trance
(DE)PHASE explores the phasing processes inherent to minimalist music born in the American urban landscape of the 1960s: repeated motifs, rhythmic cells, melodic lines that intertwine, glide, and become misaligned. This progressive shift generates a physical effect, a loss of bearings, a state of sonic and sensory vertigo.
Music becomes mass, tension, movement. The body—especially that of the dancer—reacts to this temporal instability. Through this disorientation, a sensation is born: trance.
(DE)PHASE is a journey. A slow ascent towards an altered state of listening, between lucidity and surrender. Conceived for flexible and immersive spaces, the piece transforms the venue into a shifting territory, where sounds, gestures, and silences organize themselves like a living flow.

RELOAD MEMORIES
Reactivating Memory, through music and dance
The past enters the present in this performance blending body and sound. The choreography and musical works explore the timelessness of memory. Its reactivation stimulates the living imagination. Evocations of ancient dances, animal species of bygone eras, a world that transforms and gives way to something new… The elements flow together in a breath of newfound freedom. Improvisation is never far away.
