The Apaches continue their exploration of the music of Stravinsky (early Apaches alongside Ravel; and reference composer of today's Apaches). After performing Three Poems of Japanese Lyrics , as part of their inaugural concert in 2020; the Histoire du Soldat in 2021 which they will record in 2025 for the b.records label; the Octet as part of the participatory creation Je rêve de rêve and the ENMP conducting competition, Les Apaches mount Renard , a mythical, burlesque piece, and very rarely performed due to its cast (4 singers and 16 musicians including 1 cymbalist), its instrumentarium and its short duration (18 min).

Dedicated to the Princess de Polignac, Renard was created by the Ballets Russes in 1922. With this work Stravinsky inaugurated his trestle theater, which at the time responded to economic restrictions but also to the desire to present musical and theatrical creation closer to the public. The Apaches also explore the form of trestle theater, and have a constant concern to offer the public rare works from the repertoire, making them accessible to everyone. We find ourselves on the border between theater music and chamber orchestra. The program will also present the Serenade for small orchestra by Jean Françaix, also created at the Princess de Polignac in 1934.

The concert for the creation of this program will naturally take place at the Singer-Polignac Foundation in the salons where Stravinsky's work was created as well as so many works by historical Apaches, including Ravel. This creation is designed in a formula commented by Benoît Duteurtre which will give the public all the listening keys to appreciate its flavor.
